Our California Adventure!

The girls in the caves at La Jolla

Glamour girls by the waves

La Jolla

We had a really fun spring break trip to California...we are so glad we made the trip and enjoyed the time together away from the craziness of normal life!

Some of our highlights:

Leaving American Fork in the middle of a spring snowstorm (what is it with Utah weather?!)

Stopping in Cedar City to have dinner with a bunch of friends...it sure was a crazy meal, but lots of fun to see everyone, thanks guys!!

Waking up in our hotel room to see the ocean off our porch...sure did make Jamie and I nostalgic for our Delaware beaches!

The Richards family taking us to their favorite beach in La Jolla and watching the kids explore the caves, rocks and tide pools to find all kinds of treasures.

Being able to fly a kite right by the beach and just throw it up in the air to have it immediately picked up the wind, the kids loved it!

Walking through the streets of posh La Jolla with our 4 beach kids to find something to eat, I thought for sure I would run in to a celebrity somewhere!

Exploring Legoland for two days with the Richards and the Russells...the kids had a blast riding the rides together and hanging out. They each had someone their age to pal around with.

Watching Kaden love the rollercoasters (he's just like his mom), I didn't think he would love them as much as he did!

Taking Ellie on all kinds of rides...she could not understand the concept of standing in line so she would continually try to push her way through the other people to get to the front. Eventually by the second day she figured it out!!

Haley and Kelsey having a blast with Ellie Richards and Emma Russell...they tried every ride in the park and loved every minute of it, who said Legoland is just for little kids?!

Hanging out at the pool and hot tub at our hotel, we had our own mini, mini water park! They even had a pool movie night for the kids and showed High School Musical, the girls loved it, but the boys, not so much...they were way too busy with their legos anyway!

Spending some time on the beach in Carlsbad...there is nothing better than sitting by the ocean, breathing the fresh air and putting your feet in the sand!

Picking strawberries at a local strawberry farm...our cute Kaden "had" to carry the bucket back to the car...just as I said we probably shouldn't let him carry that, he spills them all over the parking lot...gotta love him!

Packing up and heading home was not the funnest part of the trip, but we knew we had to do it, unfortunately we drove home during the day and Ellie was bearable...but it was a bittersweet end to a fun week! Who can blame her? I wouldn't want to sit in a car seat for that long either!!

Thanks to the Richards family who invited us and told us how fun Legoland is...I don't know if we would of ever gone there had they not mentioned it! Disney is wonderful, but if you want a low-key California theme park...Legoland is definitely the way to go!!!
